Half Day and Full Day Fishing Trips

Experience a fully-guided Alaskan fly fishing adventure based out of Talkeetna, Alaska! All trips are private (we don’t mix groups) and custom tailored to meet the needs of our guests.

Up North Fly Fishing trips are orientated around safety, teaching and the passion of catching wild Alaskan fish on the fly!

Trips include: A professional guide, fly rods, hip waders, all terminal tackle, water and pick-up / drop-off transportation service.

Please bring: Rain jacket, fishing license and guide gratuity.

Feel free to bring your own personal fishing gear, extra food, and beverages. Freshly prepared riverside lunch is provided on all full day trips.

Please note: trip prices are based on double occupancy, single anglers are welcome at a 1.5x rate on all trips.

  • Walk and Wade Fishing Trips

    Walk and wade trips begin at 8 AM or 1 PM. You will learn casting and basic knowledge of the sorrounding wildlife and fishery. We will guide you to our favorite spots via foot and fish for as long as time allows!

    •Half Day - 4 hours - 1-4 people ($225 per person)

    •Full Day - 8 hours - 1-4 people ($325 per person)

  • Float Fishing Trips

    Float trips begin at 8 or 9 AM and also 12 or 1 for afternoon half days. Trips start with boat and safety protocols then proceed to casting lessons. After casting lessons, we fish as many spots as we can. On full day trips, a delicious riverside meal of fresh Alaskan fish tacos will be prepared for lunch. After lunch, we enjoy the river and fish the rest of the day. This is our most popular option!

    •Half Day - 4 hours - 1-6 people ($250 per person)

    •Full Day - 8 hours - 1-6 people ($350 per person)

  • Helicopter Float Fishing Day Trip

    Experience a fully guided Alaskan fly fishing adventure via helicopter and raft! Our helicopter float trips take place on a remote stream outside of Talkeetna, AK. This world class fishery is home to healthy populations of wild Dolly Varden, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, and also gets a run of all 5 pacific running salmon. Enjoy Alaskan wildlife in a truely remote setting and cast at wild and healthy fish that receive very little pressure. Be prepared for an unforgettable fly fishing experience as we float fish approximately 10 river miles before catching a glacial river back to town.

  • Heli in, Heli out, Fly Fishing Day Trip

    Looking for a day of fly fishing in style with a helicopter drop off and pick up? Up North offers heli day trips that drop us off deep in the Talkeetna Mountain Range, right in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness and on top of some of the most incredible freshwater fly fishing opportunities in the valley! Beautiful Dolly Varden, large Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, and spawning salmon await - as well as the eagles, bears, and moose!

  • Float Plane Fishing Trip for Northern Pike

    Experience a one of a kind fishing trip via float plane! This trip begins with a scenic flight alongside the Alaska Range. After descending to a remote lake, we are dropped off with our boat, where we will be picked up by plane at the end of the day. There is a very large population of pike in this lake and we target fish in the 30” - 40”+ range. During spring spawn pike are extremely active and we’ve had over 100+ fish days on top water! If interested, you can also take home as much pike meat as you want - we’ll happily cut filets and fill ziplock bags so you can take your fish home to enjoy!   • Steelhead Fishing Trips

    Steelhead fishing in Alaska is all about timing and location. The best opportunity to catch Steelhead in Alaska is once a year when they are packed with protein and swimming out of the ocean into the rivers. Up North Fly Fishing meets its anglers on the Kenai Peninsula from mid September to late October for a full day float with a fresh shoreside lunch provided. Wild Alaskan steelhead are an absolute thrill to fight once hooked! They are considered one of the most difficult yet rewarding freshwater fish to land. We target Steelhead via fly rod and Spey rod and specialize in teaching these different styles of fly fishing techniques for willing and passionate anglers!
