Talkeetna is a very small Alaskan town nestled alongside the confluence of 3 major glacial rivers. The Susitna river, The Talkeetna river, and the Chulitna river. Main st. in downtown Talkeetna is a great place to enjoy the community atmosphere and listen to live music. There are great local restaurants, fantastic gift shops, and lodging for all. All lodges are very short walking distances to downtown - you can even enjoy fly fishing/lodging for multiple days without needing your own vehicle, just arrive by train!
